2012 春季班開學

親愛的家長,

我們春季班將於 (1/8)開始上課. 開學前有幾件事提醒您:

1. 教室更動: 應 O'Henry MS 要求, 我們這學期起將換到別的教室. 新的上課地點將在同一棟建築,不同排(靠中間). 詳情請見附圖. 我們會在教室門上貼上班別.

2. 為南非兒童募集書本及文具: 寒假期間如果您有整理出用不到的物品可捐給慈濟. 請在 1/15前帶到學校. 我們募集的物資如下:

    A) 書的種類：限英文書籍、幼兒至高中(不要雜誌類等)，書的保持狀況要良好(雖舊但 

  要完整的封面，不要有破損或缺頁的)﹔ 
     B) 文具：如鉛筆、彩色筆或蠟筆、橡皮擦、空白活頁筆記本等 (不要自動鉛筆) 
      C) 填充玩具 Stuffed Animal：新的或是看起像是沒有用過的，4-6寸高左右，手掌可托拿的。 
      D) 益智性玩具 (如chess, board games)

Dear Parents,

Our Spring semester will kick off on this Sunday 1/8.  There are a couple of things to remind you.

1. Change of classroom:  As a request of O'Henry MS, we will switch to a different column of classrooms on the 300s in the same building.  Please see attachment for the detailed location. Please use a different parking lot accordingly.

2. School supply and toy drive for children in South Africa:  If you got the chance to clean up your house during the holiday and sorted out those items that you don't need and could donate to Tzu Chi, please bring them to the school by 1/15.  The items we are collecting are:

Books:  (no magazine please) from toddler to 15. We don't take books without cover or have missing pages.

School supply: pencils (sharpened please) , crayons (new or moderate-used), erasers, blank note book papers.

toys: new or looks-new stuffed animal sized in 4-6 inches, chess, or board games.

親愛的家長,

在下次(12/04)上課前有幾件事提醒您:

1.  本週是這學期最後一次上課. 第三節起將是我們的期末感恩餐會(詳情見附件).

2. 上學期我們為南非兒童募集的書本及文具,已交由慈濟志工及慈青於暑假期間帶至南非.

    這學期我們持續為南非兒童募集書籍,文具及玩具. 請家長利用寒假期整理捐出你們用不到的物品. 在下學期開學時帶到學校. 我們募集的物資如下:

Dear Parents,

1. 12/04 is our last meet for the semester. We will have an end-of-semester party (potluck) from 11:20 to 1pm like we did last year.  Room mom of each class will coordinate the dishes of your class.  Please don't forget to bring reusable utensils  for each one of your family who will be attending.

2. This semester we will continue to collect books (for age 3 to 16), school supply (pencils, erasers, color pencil/crayons, notebook papers) , and stuffed animals  for the children in South Africa.  Please look around your house and filter out  the above items that your children don't need any more.  We will start to collect these items at the beginning of next semester.

The temperature has dropped a lot recently, please ensure your child is dressed properly to the uniform. If you need sweatshirt (long sleeves) uniform, please let me know. It's $14 a piece.

時間過的很快, 5月15日是這學期後一次上課, 本週我們要回到慈濟會所, 進行期末成果展(詳情請閱附件).

請家長儘量撥空前來參加, 與我們一起歡樂, 也藉此機會讓我們知道您的意見.

請準備一份餐點, 並記得帶大人與小朋友的環保餐具(碗筷杯子). 感恩您再次配合.

Dear parents,

5/15 will be our last meet for the semester. We will return to Tzu Chi Office for the end-of-semester performance.

Please arrive at the office at regular hour (9:30am). We will have a potluck after the performance, so please bring a dish or dissert to share with us.

Please also remember to bring your utensils and cups (we will provide water).

為南非兒童募集書籍及文具/Book and school supply drive for South African school kids

慈濟美國總會最近發起一個五元的力量 (The Power of 5)的募款活動, 在此同時慈濟也積極為南非兒童募集書籍(適於十歲以下學童) 及文具(鉛筆, 鉛筆盒,原子筆,蠟筆,尺,橡皮). 新舊皆可.  如果您有以上物品可以捐給慈濟, 請於學期結束 (5/15) 前帶至學校.

We'd like to invite you to participate our book and school supply drive for South African school kids. Items collected are books for 3rd grade or below and various school supplies (see link on the right for details).

五元的力量 (The Power of 5)

親愛的家長

首先我要感恩家長及老師們(特別是身兼雙重身分者)全力支援上週的野餐,

您用心準備豐盛的餐點, 讓大家都有一個愉快的中午.

這活動也是我們另一個新嘗試, 如果您有任何建議請不吝告知.

您知道慈濟美國總會最近發起一個五元的力量 (The Power of 5)的活動嗎 ?

您想過美金五元在我們生活裡究竟值多少? 美金五元可以換來什麼?

您知道只要每個月五元, 您就可以讓一位南非孤兒不再挨餓, 或一個海地兒童快樂的上學?

只要您願意加入, 慈濟就可以讓您感受到五元的力量其實真的不小.

也許您會問每個月五元真的夠嗎? 可以每個月每個月捐十元或只捐三元嗎?

每個月五元, 只是讓您了解行善的門欄真的不高. 數目多少其實不是那麼要緊.

如能匯集您持續的慈悲心, 慈濟可以與您一起構建綿綿的愛, 讓這些苦難的孩子有機會長大茁壯.

希望家長們秉著愛屋及烏的慈悲, 讓我們對下一代的愛, 披及遠在南非及海地的孩子們.

Dear parents,

First I would like to thanks for your involvements for the picnic last week. We all enjoyed the fun and foods you prepared. 

Tzu Chi USA has initiated a fund raising campaign called “The Power of 5” aiming at supporting the orphans in South Africa and Haiti
(link for video clips: http://www.us.tzuchi.org/usa/home.nsf/other/k13947). 
This is a long term project.  If you would like to donate $5 every month, together Tzu Chi and you could weave a web of love to nurture those children and give them an opportunity to grow up and develop.

Please let us know if you like to join“The Power of 5.”
